The Sonoma County Grape Growers Foundation has established a recovery fund for ag workers and their families who were displaced from their homes, lost wages or were impacted by the Kincade Fire in October 2019. The fund will serve to assist any workers who are employed by a farmer, rancher or an agricultural employer in Sonoma County.

Initial assistance from the fund will be distributed in the form of Visa gift cards in the amount of $500 to purchase new household items, food and supplies and to help pay utilities. This initial phase of funding is available to full-time ag employees who live or work in the burn zone.

As of Friday, November 15th, Phase 2 of this recovery support has been opened to full time ag employees who experienced a loss of wages on or after the massive evacuation and power shut off that began on Saturday, October 26th.  Gift card values for Phase 2 will be based on need and availability of funds.

To receive assistance, agriculture employers should fill out the application and return to [email protected]. Please note, employers can list all ag employees on one single form, and each will receive a gift card for immediate use. A simple application is required in order to receive assistance for employees.

If you have questions about this fund or process, please contact [email protected].

Employees must be working in agriculture to be eligible for assistance.
